Research impact shows that people knew what to do with the knowledge you shared.

Whilst it is relatively simple to measure outputs from research, it is far more complex to measure less tangible effects and consequences of research knowledge use.

Learn:

  • Different types of research impacts (short term and long term).
  • How to get to impact through planning and implementation.
  • How to assess your impact, both academic and non-academic.
  • This is a hands on workshop for developing strategies to determine your own research impact and to plan for future impact activities.

Words from our raving fans!

  • Non-believer to believer!

“I participated in a ‘Social Media Strategy for Scientists Workshop’ at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto that Tamika facilitated and it was excellent. All of the content was accessible, relevant, with enthusiastic and welcoming delivery. Watch out Twitter and Linkedin; here comes my professional social media channel to support my scholarly output, network building, and dissemination of my research to a broader scope of stakeholders.”

Colin McKerlie, Senior Associate Scientist and Professor, The Hospital for Sick Children and The Centre for Phenogenomics, Canada

  • Wow!

Just wow! I cannot wait to apply everything I have learned. I look forward to following your advice and really soaking everything in over the next few days. I have 4 FB pages, 3 Twitter accounts, 3 LinkedIn accounts, and an Instagram. Your Hootsuite suggestion may have just saved my sanity. Top notch workshop. I cannot wait to see you back in Canada or virtually in a webinar.

  • Worth my time

It was a great workshop. I learned a lot. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. I loved having a set of rules to follow.

  • Great practical value!

Tamika’s approach to teaching the value and power of social media was both practical and excellent. She stimulated interest in the course material in an engaging and well organised way. The overall feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. The true value of this workshop was revealed over the following 3 days at our scientific retreat where participants sent and responded to multiple tweets and LinkedIn stories of the latest advances being presented at the retreat.  I would highly recommend this workshop.

  • Excellent workshop

I went from being a social media non-user to an active participant in just one day!
