The KT Roadmap with title

Come with an idea, leave with a plan.

Want an easier way to manage and plan for the impact of your research? There are an increasing number of research funders requesting translation plans and wanting greater impact from the work that gets funded.

This 3-hour workshop will enhance your chances of KT success and research impact through planning. During the session, you will consider possible collaborations, avenues and tools for dissemination, and strategies to evaluate your translation goals. We will work through how translation elements can be embedded in your current project or the planning of a new project or grant proposal.

This is not just another workshop where you sit, listen and leave! This is 3 hours of power, thinking, planning, discussing your strategies and getting an outcome before you leave the room. The session, designed for researchers and research support staff, will guide you through the process of developing your pathway to impact. We will determine the stakeholders required, strategies to gain access to the right people, managing your stakeholder relationships, dissemination and translation activities, and the creation of the indicators of impact for your project. Come with your idea, leave with a plan, and get follow-up support included.

Participant feedback

  • Great practical value!

Tamika’s approach to teaching the value and power of social media was both practical and excellent. She stimulated interest in the course material in an engaging and well organised way. The overall feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. The true value of this workshop was revealed over the following 3 days at our scientific retreat where participants sent and responded to multiple tweets and LinkedIn stories of the latest advances being presented at the retreat.  I would highly recommend this workshop.

  • Fantastic

The workshop was fantastic. It was one of the most useful training sessions I’ve ever attended.

  • Thank you!

Your ability to understand my project and apply KT principals helped me to unlock, then articulate the best way to plan and describe the successful translation and implementation of my proposed project. I will hopefully contact you with news of my successful Fellowship and definitely look to engaging your talents to increase my skills and then improve outcomes for trauma patients across New South Wales!

  • Non-believer to believer!

“I participated in a ‘Social Media Strategy for Scientists Workshop’ at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto that Tamika facilitated and it was excellent. All of the content was accessible, relevant, with enthusiastic and welcoming delivery. Watch out Twitter and Linkedin; here comes my professional social media channel to support my scholarly output, network building, and dissemination of my research to a broader scope of stakeholders.”

Colin McKerlie, Senior Associate Scientist and Professor, The Hospital for Sick Children and The Centre for Phenogenomics, Canada

  • Fabulous
